Socioeconomic profile
Near Montreal, Sherbrooke and the U.S.A., the Brome-Missisquoi region is extremely well served: Autoroutes, rail lines and airports (such as the Bromont airport), several border crossings in the region, modern, accessible services (aqueduct, electricity, natural gas, telecommunications), 10 universities + a research centre integrated with industry.
Brome-Missisquoi is an innovative region focused on 4 areas of excellence in the industrial sector: microelectronics, extraction of first quality limestone, specialized food processing and plastics and new materials. Information on our industrial sectors.
The region has a well-known microelectronics research centre, the Technoparc Bromont, which attracts innovative technological organizations from around the world. The Migro Innovation Collaborative Centre guided by the Université de Sherbrooke in cooperation with IBM Canada Ltd. and Dalsa Semiconductor, which benefits from access to a nearby university network.
