CERTIFICATION
Certification
To obtain certifications, the CLD maintains strong links with the Centre de Service aux entreprises du Cégep de Granby Haute-Yamaska (CSE), the Société de formation industrielle de l’Estrie (SOFIE), and the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ).
The Service aux entreprises du Cégep de Granby Haute-Yamaska has a team of experienced advisors who can help manufacturing SMEs with their various certification endeavours. The service has a wealth of business training experience specific to certification, such as internal auditors’ training and practical training on a number of techniques to improve industrial procedures (AMDEC, 5S, PVA, etc.).
The Société de formation industrielle de l’Estrie assists businesses in the acquisition of standardization certification, including ISO, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCEP), CWB, and the Quebec agriculture and food department’s hygiene and cleanliness certification; it also certifies the power lift truck driving ability recommended by the CSST, Quebec’s workers’ health and safety board.
Lastly, the Bureau de normalisation du Québec, a member of Canada’s National Standards System, carries out activities in:
- Standardization
- Product, process, service, and human certification
- Certification of environmental and quality management systems
In accordance with an agreement signed with the Standards Council of Canada, the BNQ is certified to evaluate Quebec laboratories that wish to gain accreditation within the framework of the Program for the Accreditation of Laboratories/Canada (PALCAN). The BNQ is also in a position to proceed with food safety certification, following the HAACP guidelines, by virtue of an agreement with Quebec’s agriculture and food department.
