FIVE BROME MISSISQUOI WINNERS HONOURED AT THE GRANDS PRIX DU TOURISME DESJARDINS DES CANTONS DE L’EST AWARDS GALA

It was to a “djembe” beat that Eastern Townships Tourism held the 25th Grands Prix du tourisme Desjardins des Cantons-de-l’Est awards ceremony on the 25th of March.

The theme of the night “Carried by the rhythm for 25 years” highlighted the work accomplished by local businesses over the last quarter century. More than 260 people took part in the celebration at the Hotel Castel & Spa Confort in Granby, hosted by Radio-Canada Estrie host Mireille Roberge.

The regional winners that will represent the Eastern Townships at the Provincial Gala in Montréal on May 7.

The Jury’s Choice Award was given to Mont Sutton, an obvious choice for the jury which made a point of noting the perseverance of the Boulanger family, which has run the ski hill for 50 years. Over the years the Boulanger’s have shown innovation and stayed the course despite the at times difficult seasons experienced by the ski industry in recent years.

In all, nine businesses and two personalities were finalists. The Brome-Missisquoi CLD wishes to warmly congratulate the businesses which did not make it: Balnea, Château Bromont, Gîte vers le Mont, La Fête du Chocolat, Le St-Martin Bromont Hôtel et Suites as well as Mrs. Melanie Davidson of the Sutton Economic Development Corporation.
