Summary sheets

Water quality of the Yamaska River

COGEBY has developed summary sheets concerning water quality and the efforts to be undertaken in each of the main municipalities that make up the Yamaska watershed.

To learn more about the condition of the waterways of your municipality, COGEBY invites you to check out this new reference tool. The summary sheets on water quality can be found on the COGEBY Internet site in the “Plan d’action pour la Yamaska” section (the web site and summary sheets are in French). The findings of the water quality report of the Yamaska River watershed aren’t irreversible, but are still a vitally important local issue for residents and municipalities!

For more information, contact Catherine Plante, COGEBY’s project manager for the master water plan at: pde@cogeby.qc.ca.

Another distinction for Auberge Knowlton

Auberge Knowlton is participating in the "Saveurs du Québec" promotion sponsored by Smucker Foods of Canada, highlighting their Eagle Brand, Crisco and Five Roses brands.

Throughout the province, only three auberges, being those of Gaspé, Saint-Georges de Beauce and Lac Brome, were chosen to offer a recipe using the above mentioned brands.

For «Les Saveurs du Lac Brome», Auberge Knowlton proposes a duck recipe, the "Tourte de volaille champêtre avec riz sauvage".

From November 1 and December 31, 150,000 promotional booklets are being distributed through Quebec grocery stores.

This initiative provides a great visibility for Auberge Knowlton and Lac Brome but also for all the wine region of Brome-Missisquoi!

“Ice Wines in the Spotlight” on the way

Ice wine lovers will be pleased to learn that the “Ice Wines in the Spotlight” event will be held for a second year, this coming January 30 and 31.

The 2010 edition will extend its activities to several hotels and attractions in the region.

Last year a five-course meal highlighting Brome-Missisquoi’s ice wines and duck products attracted nearly 150 people to the Mont Sutton ski hill. This year, two dining establishments in the Sutton region will be welcoming guests for three and five course dinners, hosted by a wine taster.

Also note that a number of activities of the Friends of the Wine Route will be offered to the public. Carriage rides in a vineyard, tastings of chocolate and ice wine and Spa treatments with ice wine will be among a number of activities being offered.
