Great success for the Entrepreneurship Cocktail of the Table rÉgionale de concertation en entrepreneuriat
The Table rÉgionale de concertation en entrepreneuriat de Brome-Missisquoi et Haute?Yamaska had a great success with the number of participating entrepreneurs and self-employed workers at its Entrepreneurship Cocktail, last November 12th at the ThÉÂtre des Tournesols in Cowansville.
The meeting was planned as an opportunity to promote entrepreneurship and to set up an exhibit that would serve as a showcase for small businesses. The activity allowed entrepreneurs of the Brome-Missisquoi and Haute-Yamaska regions to present their products and services and to develop their business network.
Special guest, Mr Charles Crawford, owner of the prestigious Domaine Pinnacle, explained his amazing progression as an entrepreneur. He highlighted that this young cider producer has earned many awards for its products, that it already exports in several countries and that it espouses numerous future projects.
The Table régionale de concertation en entrepreneuriat de Brome-Missisquoi et Haute-Yamaska is a group of organizations within the two MRCs. The mission of the group is to inform, train and support entrepreneurs at different stages of their business start-up and gather people implicated in the promotion of local entrepreneurship so as to encourage dialogue and develop innovative tools and activities to achieve its goal.
2009 CHRISTMAS TREE RECUPERATION
Several Brome-Missisquoi municipalities offer special Christmas tree collection or voluntary deposit to their citizens.
Collected trees will be recovered and shredded into wood shavings rather than buried. For citizens whose municipality doesn’t offer such a service should consider using their tree for other purposes rather than depositing it.

RESULTS for the COLLECTION of DEAD LEAVES
The Brome-Missisquoi MRC thanks all the citizens that again this year recovered their dead leaves rather than send them to the landfill.
The MRC congratulates the municipalities of Bedford, Brigham, Brome, Cowansville, Dunham, East Farnham, Farnham, Frelighsburg, Lac-Brome, Notre-Dame-de-Stanbridge, Saint-Armand, Sainte-Sabine, Saint-Pierre-de-Véronne-à-Pike-River, Stanbridge East and Sutton for having organized a collection or voluntary deposit for dead leaves in 2008.
Thanks to the initiative nearly 464 tons of leaves were recovered rather than buried an increase of more than 57 % compared to last year, that is 170 tons more.
The collected leaves will serve to make compost that will be mostly used in the municipal green spaces.
The MRC encourages the municipalities and their citizens to pursue their efforts in reducing the quantity of waste sent to the landfill.
