Project call for the Rural Pact

The MRC Brome-Missisquoi has launched a project call for its Rural Pact. The application form is available online at www.brome-missisquoi.ca. The non-profit organizations, the municipalities and health, education and social service organisations are invited to submit a financing request for their projects before November 7th, 2008. The objectives of the eligible projects must meet the priorities established during the Vision 2008-2014 symposium. You may consult these priorities on the above mentionned website.

An agreement between the provincial government and the MRCs of rural character, the Rural Pact allows the MRC ways to insure the dynamic occupation of the territory. Over a seven year period ending in 2014, the MRC will receive 2.3 M$ thanks to this agreement.

Being the second generation of the Rural Pact, a few modifications were made, amongst others concerning eligibility criteria and the attribution of the funds. It is highly recommended that interested promoters attend one of the information sessions organized by CLD de Brome-Missisquoi or to communicate with the rural development advisors, Tania Szymanski (ext. 281) or Pierre Genesse (ext. 225) at the following number: 450 266-4928.

Information sessions were held in French at the MRC Brome-Missisquoi building, at 749 Principale Street, Cowansville, on Wednesday, September 17th, and in English, on Thursday, September 18th, at 7:00 pm.
